This merges the branch containing the revamped build system based around converting autogen from a bash script to a Perl program. Jeff has provided emails explaining the features contained in the change. Please note that configure requirements on components HAVE CHANGED. ess_bproc_module.c	Expand the ESS framework's API to include a new function "query_sys_info" that allows the caller to retrieve key-value pairs of info on the local system capabilities (e.g., cpu type/model).
