It looks like opal_init failed for some reason; your parallel process is
likely to abort.  There are many reasons that a parallel process can
fail during opal_init; some of which are due to configuration or
environment problems.  This failure appears to be an internal failure;
here's some additional information (which may only be relevant to an
Open MPI developer):

It looks like opal_cr_init failed. This usually means that the CRS component
could not be activated on this machine. Check the installation of your

Implement an opal_show_help() (like is done in ompi_mpi_init) for error handling in opal_init and both stages of orte_init. Some of the functions in opal_init are void or return a bool (opal_output_init, but always returns true.. eh?), so I don't check them. Merging in the jjhursey-ft-cr-stable branch (r13912 : HEAD). This merge adds Checkpoint/Restart support to Open MPI. The initial frameworks and components support a LAM/MPI-like implementation. Cleanup the updated sys limits capability. Fix a few copy/paste bugs (my bad). Shift the limit set to the ODLS default module so that we sete the limits for all apps, even those that don't call opal_init. Leave it in opal_init as well to support direct-launch apps, but ensure we only set the limits once by removing the envar after launch by ODLS. Provide some nice error messages if we fail to set the limits. Since the user had to specifically request we set the limit, treat failure as an error-out situation.
